First Home Essentials

Hello and welcome back to my blog, I'm finally back. If you follow me on instagram you might have seen my post that my computer decided to crash on me but I finally have it working again so I can get back on track with blogging!

Today's post is about the essential things you need for moving out of home! If you are like me and started with absolutely nothing the list of things you need is forever growing. Now I wont be moving for a few months so that has given me plenty of time to save and buy everything I need months in advance so I ready, so if you have the chance to plan, save and buy things before you move out that will help you a lot.

I'll start with the room that needs the most things, The Kitchen.
You don't realize when you start making a list is that you need a ridiculous amount of things to start up your kitchen but here is a list of the essential things to start you out.

- Cutlery and Dining set
You obviously need something eat with, the basics are knives, forks and spoons and plates and bowls.

- Glasses and Mugs
This is self explanatory, you need something to drink out of.

- Utensils
There is a ridiculous amount of utensils you need, the basics are tongs, plastic and wooden spoons, pasta forks and of course spatulars.

- Bakeware and Trays
You'll want something that you can bake things in such as Lasagna dishes and Trays for cooking things likes chips in the oven

-Pots and Pans
Also another  must for cooking and also self explanatory

These are just the basics for your kitchen, as I mentioned before the list goes on forever and if you want to see my FULL list on things you actually need for the kitchen let me know and I will do a while separate blog post.

The Bedroom
I needed to buy everything for my bedroom also including the bed and furniture, although you may have that and if you do the things you need the most is

- New bedding
This is one of the things I'm splurging on, really nice bedding! Again if you already have bedding you love you don't need this. Although new bedding is nice

The Bathroom
You don't need that much for the bathroom, thankfully!

- Towels
You'll most likely need to buy some towels, another thing I'm paying a little bit more for because I love fluffy towels! Unless you can steal a bunch from your parents or who you live with then you'll need these

- Hand Towels,
For you and you're guesting drying their hands.

- Bath Mats
Very important to buy some bath mats!

The Laundry/ Cleaning
You need a bunch of cleaning products, gather the basics first.

- Dish Washing Liquid

- Spray and Wipe

- Laundry powder or liquid

- Toilet Cleaner

- Air Spray

Now that it for the basics/ essentials of the things you need moving into your first home. As I've mentioned there is so much and I will be going into them and taking you on my journey!
Please if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me!

Moving Into New House! Update #1

If you're following me on Instagram you might of seen that I am moving into my own place with my boyfriend, when I say own place I mean it will just be me and my boyfriend living there. Unfortunately not owning the place. We have quite a few months to prepare for this move, meaning buying everything and saving to buy the more expensive things and planning.

When you start buying things you start to realize how much you need, especially for that goddamn kitchen. I bought my self a little journal and the first thing I did was a make a list of everything we already have and I add to that every time I get something so I'm not doubling up and I know what else I need.
Speaking of things I need I also write everything I need down, now this list just seems to keep growing, especially if you're moving into a new house with nothing and you're starting from scratch!

The way I am managing to get everything is saving as much as I can, meaning the money I have left over at the end of the week I'll put away. I have stopped spending my money on my beloved makeup for awhile! I also might pick up something from the homeware section of the supermarket when I go there for some grocery shopping.

The first things I am focusing on is getting stuff for the kitchen, you honestly don't know how much you need for the kitchen until you start buying. So I'll show you some pictures of what I've gotten so far

The picture on the left is a bake ware set I got from Target on sale for only $8!
The picture on the right is a 8 piece container set from Big W also $8 because you need those containers.

I then also got this mixing bowl from Woolworths for only $7 which I will be picking up more of  and I love the grip bottom!

Also from Woolworths I got these matching measuring cups and spoons for all the baking I do! I thought they were really cute!

I got lots of kitchen utensils, and I still need to get so much more!

Chopping boards are super important unless you want to chop up your counter! Coles has cute mini ones for $2

Also $2 from Coles are plastic cups for if kids come around or even for your boyfriend who breaks things all the time!

These next things are stuff I purchased a while back

Dinner set is very important if you want something to eat off, I think I will be getting one more of these!

This is completely optional to go all out on a knife block but I really wanted a nice one and it was around $200 but you can defiantly buy a cheaper, good value one.

Getting a good cutlery set it important to so you have things to eat with! I will also be getting another one of these!

And of course some glasses! I have these ones and ones about half the size, I am going to be picking up a few more of the same ones!

I also got some cute mugs from Kmart a while back now and I got 4 of these, I'm thinking of getting a few more of a different color maybe!

Now these are things that are probably the most 'exciting' that I have gotten so far, I do have 2 big boxes full of things so if you want to see more things let me know.
If you want to see a list of Kitchen essentials for moving out I'd be happy to put that in my next post!

I will be going to Ikea in a few months time to do a massive shop and buy a new bed so I will make sure I do a big Homeware Haul when that happens. I will be posting either weekly or fortnightly depending on how much has 'changed'
Also I am saving so I am going to tell you my total and if I did a bad thing and spent any of my house money!
Savings Total: $300

July Favourites

Hello Hello!
Welcome back to my blog and hope you've had good week so far! Today's post is a early July favourites! I have been loving quite a few products this month so bare with me!

The first products I want to talk about are all these concealers! If you want to know how I use all these I will leave the link to my 'How to cover dark circles' post at the end of this post.
Bare Mineral Concealer in Well Rested - this is such a hyped up product but not so much recently and didn't think about picking it up until my friend told me how good it was while we were in Mecca Maxima!

MAC Pro longwear Concealer in NC15 - perfect concealer for high lighting and using under your eyes. It's so light weight and a very thin consistency so it will not crease under your eyes!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla - Perfect for highlighting and spot concealing, I absolutely am in love with this. This is a much more thicker consistency then the MAC concealer and I feel covers more.

Napoleon Perdis Might Concealer Stick in Mellow Yellow - This brightens up under my eyes like crazy and really helps to make me look super awake! Defiantly recommend this if you struggle concealing your under eye circles or love/ need that brightened look.

Napoleon Perdis Concealer Primer - I apply this under my eyes before applying anything, this also helps in brightening and prevents creasing.

This has been my go to blush for July! It's the elf cosmetics blush in Innocence.
It's perfect everyday color to add a simple flush to your cheeks. I feel as if this goes with any look I'm wearing from very subtle to an intense night time look. Best of all it's about $2!

Next is a NYX single shadow in True Taupe. I've been wearing nothing but this through my crease just for an everyday subtle look. It just give a subtle definition to the lid.
You can add a small amount of this and it also is very buildable for a darker color payoff.
I love these shadows because they feel so buttery and smooth!

My holy grail eye brow product (for now) is the elf eyebrow kit! You have heard me talk about this before so I wont talk about it too much.
I use the wax side mostly, but if i have a random gap I will go in with the powder side to fill them in!

Nars Sheer Glow, need I say more? I never got around to buying the full size but I recently went into Mecca Maxima and asked for a sample and I love it so much and I will be buying the full size as soon as I can. I wore this to my job interview at Myer and it looked amazing!
Let me know if you want me to post a job interview makeup look?!

I have been loving my Stilla In The Light palette so so so much! I want go into too much detail with this because I will be posting a look with this palette in the near future and I will talk about it then!

Lush Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly... Oh. My. Goodness. This is the holy grail shower soap out of all soaps ever. I've found myself wanting to have showers just so I can use my shower jelly. It's smells absolutely amazing, it is literally like showering with a bag of lollies and ugh! I can't describe how much I love this.

Another Lush product and this is their BB Seaweed fresh face mask. I feel like this is so cool (maybe because I keep it in the fridge?) and refreshing on my face. I don't feel as if it's suffocating me although it is thick. I do have one problem that the seaweed chucks like to dry up and fall off when I wear this. But over all I don't care about that and I love this mask soo much!
I apply this once a week on Saturdays with this next product!

My complete favourite of this month is my Lush H'suan Wen Hua hair treatment. This hair mask works wonders and has completely taken the place of my Maccadamia hair mask. This is a protein mask, including things like eggs, avocado and bananas. My hair was really damaged from bleaching the hell out of it a year back and this has completely transformed my hair. It feels and look so much healthier after using this, I will continue to repurchase this!
I apply this once a week!

I really hope you enjoyed my favourites! What are yours?

Michael Todd Haul/ First Impressions

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog, I hope you are all good!
For about a year now I have been wanting to make a purchase from Michael Todd so finally I decided to visit their site and saw they were having a sale, so around the end of June I purchased the Sensitive Skin Recovery Kit. I received it around 3 weeks after purchase.
I've played with this products for around about a week now so I was able to give a realistic opinion.

Sensitive Skin Recovery Kit

Honey and Oat Deep Pore Gel Cleanser
Ingredients and what it claims to do: This honey and oat cleanser removes makeup and impurities and is sulfate free and will not irritate eyes. It also contains refreshing aloe vera juice.
This will leave your skin clean, fresh and hydrated

The cleanser is shown in the picture to the left one thing I love about the packaging is it has a pump bottle so you are able to get just the amount you need. You only need the smallest amount, like whats shows in the photo because you apply a touch of water and it foams up while rubbing it in. This doesn't leave your skin feeling tight which I find with a lot of cleansers, but leaves your skin feeling very refreshed.

It works amazingly to get my makeup off, what my cleansing wipes doesn't get off this makes up for it!

Cranberry Antiox Toner
Ingredients and what it claims to do: This toner includes antioxidant cranberries and vitamins that fight bacteria and damage that the environment may have caused. It also contains tea tree oil which is fights infections and will help clear your skin. Toner aims to balance out skins pH and this toner does it without stinging or drying out your skin.

I do really wish this toner maybe had a spray or a pump like the cleanser did. To apply this I pour some on to a cotton round or even onto my cleansing wipes then wipe over my face.  When I poured some out for the photo I realized it really just looks like water but it smells absolutely amazing! This also doesn't leave my skin feeling dry and tight.

 Tropical Fruit Facial Polish
Ingredients and what it claims to do: The mask includes Papaya and Pineapple Enzymes as a non irritating exfoliant to remove dead skin and impurities.
It exfoliates, moisturizes and firms.

This product like most exfoliants is it a squeezy tube, which is great. When I put some onto my fingers I thought it was going to be a cream with bigger granules inside, it's actually made up of very tiny granules which is great for sensitive skin because it was harsh at all!
I absolutely love this this exfoliant and it really does smell like tropical heaven.

Charcoal Detox Mask
Ingredients and what it claims to do: This mask aims to draw out impurities and toxins in your skin using mineral rick charcoal. It also cleans out excess oil and dirt.
It contains antioxidant green tea, vitamins and black willow tree extract.
Now, first thing I will say is I thought this was going to be a whole lot more thicker. I applied it to my hand to test it and it's very thin and nearly rubs in clear! Saying that this would be great for people that hate the heavy mask feeling.
I have noticed my skin clearing rapidly after using these products and I think it's because of this little beauty. Also with the previous products, masks can also leave your skin feeling dry and tight but this makes me skin feel super moisturized!

Citrus Cream Moisturizer
Ingredients and what it claims to do: This moisturizer contains essentials oils of sweet mandarin orange, tangerine, lemon and lime. It's aim is to achieve a radiant and healthy looking complexion by restoring moisture balance and resurfacing skin texture.
It also aims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores.

By the photo you can tell the littlest bit goes the long way with this moisturizer. I don't need much at all to cover my whole face. This is just like rubbing a lemon all over your face, but in a good way? It's amazing leaves your face so fresh and moisturized and you smell like a lemon lolly.

In conclusion this products are so amazing, and i recommend them 100%
They have skin kits for all skin types, the one i purchased come with the smaller sizes 'Discovery Collection' of products so you can get the feel of them and see if you like them. I think it's a great way discovering new products.
Acne or Oil Skin Kit
Sensitive Skin Kit
Anti Aging Skin Kit
Combination Skin Kit

michaeltoddtrueorganics.com
Until the 30th of July they have these kits on sale for only $33!

If you have anyone questions about the kits or the products please let me know and I will answer them the best I can.

How To Get Fuller Looking Lips

Hello everyone, hope you are all well and welcome back to my blog!
Today's post is about getting fuller looking lips, there are a lot of different ways that you can achieve this but I chucked a view of them together for this post.

Okay before I get into I want to apologize for the quality of the photos, I had them so perfect and ready a few days prior then I went to put them on the post today and they have vanished.. So I had to quickly do it all again before it got to late. Sorry!

What I used

Lip Scrub: Optional. Exfoliating encourages blood flow, there for your lips will look they are there 'swelling' and when I swelling I don't mean they are going to end up the size of your whole face, I mean they will slightly be more larger. This doesn't last a very long time though and usually wears off after a while.

Lip Plumper: This is also optional and I hardly ever use lip plumper because I have never used one that actually works for me.
NYX Lip Plumper

Nude Lipstick: I find if you are wanting a full lip look that a nude lipstick works the best.
ELF Matte Lip Color

Nude Lipliner: I usually use one that a little but dark but not too darker.
ChiChi lip liner & Essence lip liner

Lipgloss: Adds shine and 'plumpness'
NYX Lip Butter, Elf Glossy Gloss & Elf Lip Gloss

Highlighter: To apply to the middle of the lips, and the cupids bow and bottom lip.
 MAC Soft and Gentle

Contour powder: To shade under bottom lip
 Elf bronzing powder

First step: Scrub! Remember to wipe any excess off. I used my Lush Bubblegum Lipscrub
Second step: Apply lip plumper. Let this set in and do it's work for a little while.
Third step: I then wipe some of it off so I can apply my lipstick better, I used my elf matte lip color in Nearly Natural
Fourth step: Line your lips, going outside of the lips a little bit. Do this carefully because if you draw to far out it won't look very good.
Fifth step: Apply lip gloss!
Sixth step: Highlight cupids bow, middle on lips and along line of bottom lip
Seventh step: Lighting apply a contour shade beneath the bottom lip

The result!

Again, I'm sorry for the bad quality. I had to do this all at the last minute with no good source of lighting.
Although, I do hope this helped you and the rest of the makeup look I am wearing will be in a future post using some of my Napoleon Perdis products

Vanity Tour!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog, as you can tell by the title today's post is my vanity tour! Well it's more like my makeup area, because it's not really a vanity, oh well!
I will be posting my makeup collection at a later date!
Enjoy!

This is the 'overview' of my makeup area, I do also use my laptop on this desk. I got my desk from Kmart for only $29 and it's so perfect for me! My trolley is from Officeworks and it was around $50

On the far right of the desk I keep a very cute Mecca Maxima bag there which actually has makeup in it that I am sending some friends! I then have my Glasshouse candle in Oahu and my Lush Ultrabalm

Next to that I keep my mirror and my makeup brushes, I got the makeup brush holders which are actually tooth brush holders and the mirror from Kmart also. I think the brush holders were only about $3 and the mirror was around $7

I usually always have some sort of pile of makeup on the desk, and these are products that will be in a upcoming blog post!

I also keep my Ipad and Laptop on my desk to communicate with you guys and blog away.

This is also my purple diary I got from Officeworks, I keep on my desk and use it to plan out my blog posts and a Lush magazine that I have been flicking through learning more about their products

This is was on the far left of the desk. The large bag in the background was a gift from the Napoleon Perdis event I attended, a long with some samples on top of those small drawers.
In the small drawers I keep my favourtie lipsticks.
On top of that I also have my bubble gum lip scrub and my hair balm. Next to the drawers is a little bowl with some lip balms and a Ishka perfume.

Lastly, the trolley you see holds all of my makeup. On top of the trolley is a Peg Basket where I keep all my favourite/ most used palettes.

I hope you enjoyed this post, it was something simple but fun and a look inside my makeup area.
